Answers about WebW.AI, your published site, and how our generation process works.
How is WebW.AI different from other website builders?
WebW.AI is built for marketing sites that load fast — and easy to build. You describe your business; we generate a polished site you can preview, refine, and publish.
Most editing does not use AI credits — layouts, colors, fonts, style, and adding or removing a single item. We use AI only when you call AI — to write or rewrite text, generate a photo or logo, or fill an empty section. You can refine and publish a live site on Hosted Free.
Why are WebW.AI sites fast for visitors around the world?
When you publish, your site is delivered as finished pages on a global content network — not rebuilt on every visit. Content is served from locations near your visitors.
Each live page includes only the design layouts used on that page, plus shared navigation and forms. Preview still has every layout so you can try a different look before you publish again.
We keep extra scripting to a minimum: mobile navigation and contact forms only. Fast delivery is included, not an upgrade.
When a banner includes a contact form, phones show the photo and headline first and the form just below. On a wider screen the form stays beside the headline.
What do you need from me to build a site?
We ask for these in order:
- Kind of site — local business, nonprofit, personal, or event
- What you do — trade or focus (local businesses can pick up to three)
- Name — business, organization, person, or event
- Where — city and state (or service area)
If an answer is too thin, we will ask a follow-up before we build the preview.
What kinds of sites will you not build?
We do not build sites that involve:
- Illegal activity or fraud
- Exploitation or hate
- Glorifying crime
You will see a refusal, and that decision is final.
The same standard applies to AI photo descriptions in preview. If a description cannot be used, we will ask you to try a different prompt.
What if I need someone to review my request?
If we cannot get enough information after several tries, if you are signed in, your prompt gets submitted for review. Until then, add more detail about your business.
Is there a video that shows how to create and publish a site?
Yes. On the homepage, just below the get-started questions, there is a short sped-up walkthrough of describing your business, generating a site, and publishing on a free yourname.webw.ai address.
Under that clip is the full, unedited walkthrough — generate, edit, and publish — so you can watch the real pace if you want more detail.
Where do I go to generate a new site?
Choose Generate New Site from the header or your dashboard. That opens a short get-started page — a few questions, then Build my site.
You can also begin from the homepage or an example site. Start with this layout uses that example’s page structure — not its words or photos. Example sites stay one page. Your name, location, and industry drive the copy and pictures. The layout choice applies to that visit only.
Why did we ask you to try again when you built a site?
We limit how many new sites one network can start in a short time so the service stays available for everyone. If you see a message to try again later, wait a bit and build again from the same get-started page.
When demand is unusually high we may pause new builds for visitors who are not signed in. Your existing draft stays available. Paid plans are not blocked by that pause.
The first-build safety check uses a small part of the Hosted Free AI allowance. It does not appear as a row on Dashboard → Billing → Usage. The finished site draft does.
Why does a bar say the site builder is updating?
We sometimes pause building, editing, and publishing for a few minutes while we update the site builder. You can keep browsing webw.ai, sign in, and visit published sites.
The bar at the top of the page goes away when the builder is available again. Your draft is not deleted. Try building, editing, or publishing your site shortly after the bar disappears.
What if I do not have a final business name yet?
Use a working name for now. You can rename the business in preview after the site is built.
Can I sign in with Google and email magic link on the same account?
Yes. Your account is tied to your email address, not to which button you use. Sites, drafts, and plan settings stay together whether you sign in with Google or a one-time link sent to that inbox.
Signing in the other way with the same email continues the same work. You do not start over.
Will AI invent services or claims about my business?
We do not invent awards, licenses, prices, or a different kind of business than the one you chose.
AI writes a services section for your reference from your trade and location when you do not list specific offerings. You should review those cards and refine anything that is not accurate.
Testimonials on the first site are filler so the layout is complete. Replace them with honest reviews your customers gave.
If you did not provide phone, email, address, or hours, we add placeholder contact details so the first site is complete. Edit those with your real information before you publish.
Do my edits go live right away, or do I need to publish?
Edits in preview save to your draft as you work. Visitors do not see them until you publish your live site.
The preview header shows Go live the first time, or Update live site when a published site has new changes waiting. Exit leaves the editor; your draft is kept so you can finish later.
How do search engines see my live site?
After you publish, your live address includes a sitemap of the home page and any dedicated pages you have published (for example Services or Gallery). Search engines can use that list. Draft and development preview addresses stay unpublished from search.
On Free and Starter, service tiles say Contact us and go to your contact form. Each tile has a unique accessible name so search tools can tell them apart. If you have a dedicated Services page, the tile names the service instead. You can still type your own link wording in preview.
What happens if someone opens a page that is not on my live site?
They see a branded page-not-found screen with your site header and a link back to the home page. The response is a real 404 — search engines are not told the missing address is live content.
Typical cases: a typo in the address, an old bookmark, or a Pro page you have not published yet (for example Gallery). Publish or republish so your live site includes the latest error page after platform updates.
Will every new site look the same?
No. Every site starts with the same building blocks — a top banner, about, services, reviews, a call to action, and contact — so the page is complete. Color, fonts, corners, and section layouts vary so two similar businesses are not clones.
You can still change color, fonts, shape, and each section’s layout in preview. Those edits are free.
How do I change a section layout in preview?
Select a section, then choose Change design in Structure. You will see visual layout options. Header and footer have their own looks as well, without changing your menu or contact details.
Layout changes are free. Footer Style only changes the footer background color. Use Undo above the preview if you want the previous look back.
How do Color, Fonts, and Style work in preview?
Open Color, Fonts, Style, or Social Media above the preview. Choose a look, review the sample, then Save. That update is free and applies to your draft.
Site logo works the same way: choose an icon, an AI logo, or an upload, then save.
How do I add Instagram, Facebook, or Nextdoor to my site?
In preview, open Social Media — the same row as Color, Fonts, Site logo, and Style. Add a network (including Nextdoor and other local listings), paste the full https link, choose header and footer placement, then Save. Remove a row to drop that network.
Links show in the footer by default. Header is off unless you turn it on — then icons sit above or below the menu on the right. On phones they open with the menu, in one row. Footer alignment is Left, Center, or Right on desktop; tablet and phones always stay centered. Each icon opens in a new tab. Visitors see the links after you publish.
Can I undo a change in the preview workspace?
Yes. Undo and Redo above the preview step through recent draft changes — text, colors, layouts, and similar edits. They do not use AI credits.
Your live site stays as it was until you publish again.
Can I add new sections like FAQ, a gallery, or audio after my site is generated?
On Starter and Pro, yes. Open Structure in preview and add sections such as questions, photos, video, or audio. Choose a design, then start empty or have us write the first draft.
The Free plan can refine copy and change layouts on sections you already have. Adding new sections requires Starter or Pro.
Pro can also publish dedicated Services, Gallery, About, and Contact pages as separate addresses on your site.
If I change my phone, address, or hours in preview, does it update everywhere?
Yes. Phone, email, address, and hours stay in sync across your homepage contact section, the site footer, and the dedicated Contact page on Pro.
A change in preview applies to all of those places at once. Visitors see it after you publish. Use your real contact details before the site goes live so people can reach you.
What do the thumbs up and down buttons on refinement replies do?
They tell us whether a reply was helpful. Thumbs up marks it as useful. Thumbs down tells us the last reply missed.
Neither button changes your site. Only your next request does.
Where do the photos on my site come from?
We use a small set of curated Unsplash photos and host them ourselves — not random stock links loaded from the public web when someone visits your page.
Photos are matched to your kind of business and to the section they appear in. You can try another photo from our set at no extra cost, upload your own (on any plan), or — on a paid plan — generate a custom AI image.
Does my site get a logo or icons?
Every site includes professional header icons matched to your industry, plus matching icons on contact details and service tiles.
On Starter and Pro you can generate full-color AI logos. Each generate uses the same AI credits as an AI photo, and every logo stays in your gallery so you can compare. You can also upload your own PNG or WebP file (up to 512 KB) on any plan, including Free.
If the site is already live, save your logo choice and publish again so visitors see the update.
How do fonts work on my published site?
Every published site uses licensed, open-source typefaces that we host ourselves. Visitors’ browsers do not load fonts from other companies. That keeps pages fast and respects the font licenses.
You can choose from our font pairings, or use Your brand to apply your colors and the closest match from our library. We cannot embed fonts that require a separate commercial license unless they are already in that library.
Can I add videos to my published site?
On Starter and Pro, add a Video section in Structure. Hosted Free cannot add new sections, so video is not available on the Free plan.
Starter and Pro include YouTube or Vimeo links plus ad-free uploads — up to 10 files at 100 MB each on Starter, and up to 25 files at 250 MB each on Pro. Gallery video layouts are on Pro. Please confirm you have permission to show people in any video you upload.
Can I add Spotify or SoundCloud audio to my site?
Yes, on Starter and Pro. Add an Audio section in Structure, then paste a Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or SoundCloud link.
Published pages play the provider’s player. Their privacy policies apply when visitors play audio.
When I text my site link, why do some people see a photo and description?
After you publish, messaging apps such as iMessage and WhatsApp can show a card with your business name, a short description, and a photo from your homepage.
Share your published link, not a draft. Ordinary text messages do not show a card. If a card looks outdated after you republish, wait a few minutes and share the link again.
Where do contact form messages go?
When someone submits the contact form on your published site, we email the message to your lead inbox. By default that is the email on your WebW.AI account.
You can send leads to a different address from Dashboard → Lead inbox. We email a confirmation code to the new address and only switch after you enter that code.
Can I control which emails WebW.AI sends me?
Required notices stay on while you use the service: sign-in links, publish confirmations, and contact-form leads for your sites. Those are not marketing messages.
Optional product tips and affiliate news can be turned on or off at Privacy → Email preferences when you are signed in.
What is the difference between Starter and Pro?
Starter is $19.99 per month for one live site: a single-page website with a full homepage on one scroll. You can connect your own domain, receive contact leads, generate AI logos, and use 120 AI credits each month. There is no Built with webw.ai badge. Contact shows your address as text.
Pro is $49.99 per month for one live site as well. The difference is depth: you can turn on dedicated Services, Gallery, About, and Contact pages from Structure in preview (Pro pages On, above Page sections). Your live site stays a single page until you publish. Pro also includes 300 AI credits each month. AI logos work the same as on Starter.
An embedded map on contact, local SEO tools, city and service pages, and a blog are coming soon on Pro only. A future operations product for scheduling and related tools will be available to Pro subscribers.
How do AI credits work?
Most work in preview does not use AI credits. Changing layouts, colors, fonts, and style is free. Adding or removing a single item in a list is free. Publishing is included on every plan.
We use AI credits only when you call AI — to write or rewrite text, generate a photo or logo, or fill an empty section.
Starter includes 120 AI credits each month. Pro includes 300. Credits reset when your billing period renews.
On Hosted Free you get a one-time AI allowance for the first site and later AI edits. When it runs out, your site stays published. You can still change layouts and style, edit copy yourself, and publish again.
How many sites can I keep in my dashboard, and what happens when I hit my live-site limit?
Your dashboard lists every site you have started after sign-in. Drafts stay there so you can edit them anytime. There is no limit on how many drafts you keep.
Each plan allows one live site at a time — Hosted Free, Starter, and Pro. If you try to publish a second business while one is already live, we ask you to unpublish the live site first. We do not replace it silently. Extra live sites may come later as an add-on.
On a paid plan, Unpublish takes a site offline but keeps the draft so you can publish it again later.
How do I subscribe to Starter or Pro?
Sign in, then choose Subscribe on Starter or Pro — on the homepage or under Dashboard → Billing. You will complete payment on a secure checkout page and enter a billing address.
Checkout is billed in US dollars.
Tax/VAT/GST may be added if we are legally required to collect it based on your billing address.
Your plan updates as soon as payment succeeds. If you leave checkout, you can try again from the same buttons.
We cannot complete a paid plan for some billing locations. Preview stays available. If checkout cannot complete, contact support from your dashboard.
Can I earn with the Affiliate program?
Yes. Start on the Affiliate page (/affiliate), then sign in and open Dashboard → Account → Affiliate to join. You get a personal link as soon as you pick a payout country. Verify payouts on that tab to receive commissions and complimentary Starter with 120 monthly AI credits. That plan does not earn commission. When someone new uses your link and later pays for Starter or Pro, you earn a share of what they paid, not including tax. Hosted Free does not count. You cannot earn on your own subscription.
New members start at 20 percent. After $500 of referred paid revenue, later invoices earn 25 percent. Earnings wait 30 days, then we pay on the 1st when at least $50 is ready. If you do not send a new paying customer for 365 days, new earnings on older customers pause until you do. Already waiting or already paid amounts stay.
Questions about attribution or payouts: contact us from Dashboard → Contact us, topic Affiliate & payouts. We resolve in good faith under the program rules. If we cannot resolve within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to binding arbitration under a nationally recognized organization's commercial rules (designated when referred) or to small claims court where allowed.
Payouts are available from selected countries. You choose that country when you join and cannot change it. A globally recognized payments partner verifies your identity, collects your bank details, and sends the money. We never see your bank account number.
Do you have an AI website builder or SaaS affiliate program?
Yes. The official program is on the Affiliate page (/affiliate). WebW.AI is an AI website builder — a simpler alternative to Wix, Webflow, and WordPress for owners who want a finished site without a blank builder or a CMS.
You earn 20 percent of paid Starter and Pro (25 percent after $500 of referred paid revenue), including renewals while you stay active. That is a recurring SaaS affiliate commission, not a one-time bounty.
Can I use my own website name (like joeplumbing.com)?
Yes, on Starter or Pro. You can publish first on yourname.webw.ai, then connect a name you already own so visitors see your own address.
You register and renew that name with any provider where you buy website names — typically about $12–20 per year for a .com. We show you what to copy into their settings, with guides for common providers.
Your site uses the name without www. If you also set up www, those visitors are sent to the same place. Your webw.ai link keeps working while we connect the name.
Email us a screenshot of the page you are stuck on and we will tell you how to proceed. We never ask for the password at the company where you bought your name.
How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan?
Manage your plan from Dashboard > Billing. You can upgrade, switch to Starter, or cancel there.
Changes start right away. If you upgrade, we refund unused time in this period and start a new billing period on the new plan. If you switch to Starter or cancel, we refund unused time in this period, limited by unused AI credits. Using most of your AI credits first can mean a smaller refund, or none. Your live site changes to match the new plan. See the questions at the bottom of this page.
Where do I see invoices, renewal date, or update my card?
Open Dashboard → Billing after you sign in. You will see your current plan, billing dates, and AI credits for this period. Paid customers can update a card and review invoices and refunds in secure billing settings.
For help with a charge, use the Billing help form on that page. We reply by email. Do not send card numbers in the form — update payment details only in billing settings.
Where can I see my AI refinement usage?
Open Dashboard → Billing → Usage after you sign in. You will see your plan, when paid credits reset, and a history of AI edits. You can filter by month.
Each time you use AI — write or rewrite text, generate a photo or logo, or fill a section — we add a row and deduct one credit on Starter or Pro (or part of the Hosted Free allowance). Layout, color, and font changes do not appear there.
The first-build safety check is not listed here. History is kept for about 90 days. Work from an anonymous preview before you claim an account does not appear there.
What happens if my renewal payment fails?
We email you on three consecutive days while your paid plan stays active. Update your card from Dashboard → Billing during that window.
If payment still fails after three days, your account moves to Hosted Free. Your site stays on your webw.ai address. A connected custom address pauses until you subscribe again.
What does the cookie banner on webw.ai do?
When you first visit webw.ai, we ask you to choose Essential only or Accept all. Essential cookies keep the site working — sign-in, your workspace, and your consent choice. After you sign in, we store the session in an HttpOnly cookie on our API host so other sites cannot read it. That is separate from the optional affiliate cookie.
Accept all also allows optional marketing cookies, such as remembering an affiliate referral link (?ref=) for checkout attribution (the ww_ref cookie on webw.ai). Signing out does not clear that referral cookie. You can read the full list on our Privacy Policy → Cookies section.
Do you support ecommerce or online stores?
Not today. WebW.AI is focused on marketing and business sites — homepages, services, galleries, and contact so people can learn about you and get in touch.
Shopping carts, checkout, inventory, and payment processing are not part of the product. If you need a storefront, use a dedicated ecommerce platform alongside your marketing site.
Can I paste my own HTML or scripts into my site?
No. Text you type or generate is shown as ordinary words — including characters like & and angle brackets. It cannot run as a program on your live site.
We do not offer a custom HTML or script embed in this release. Layouts, photos, and forms are the supported way to build the page.
Can visitors ask my site questions in a chat?
Not yet. We are building a site assistant for paid plans that will answer from the facts you supply — hours, service areas, and common questions — not from made-up claims.
Today, your site includes clear contact paths and copy you refine before you publish.
What happens to my live site if I switch from Pro to Starter?
Your existing homepage will remain live. Your multi-page site will become a single-page site. Content from Pro-only pages moves to the homepage as hidden sections. You can edit, unhide, and republish anytime.
We save a dated backup of your full Pro site. You can restore it from Billing after you upgrade again — not while you are still on Starter.
What happens if I cancel and land on Hosted Free?
Your site stays live at your webw.ai address, but it goes back to the first Free sections we generated. Paid features such as Gallery come off. A custom domain pauses.
We save a dated backup. You can restore it from Billing when you subscribe again. Billing stops today. We refund unused time in this period, limited by unused AI credits.
What if my card fails and the plan ends after the grace period?
After we retry for a few days, your account moves to the Free Plan the same way as a cancel. We keep a dated backup. A custom domain pauses.
If I subscribe again, can I get my old site back?
Yes, when a backup exists. We ask once: keep the site that is live now, or restore the backup (we show the date and time). Keeping the current site does not throw the backup away.
You can switch later from a Saved site card on Dashboard > Billing.
Can I delete my account so I have no public site at all?
Yes. Open Dashboard > Settings and use Delete account. That takes every public website offline and closes the account. This is different from canceling a plan, which leaves a Free site up.
We keep an offline archive when the law requires it. That archive is not published, and you cannot restore it from Billing. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your plan from Dashboard > Billing instead.
How do I download my words and photos?
Open Dashboard > Settings and choose Download my data. A table lists your words ZIP plus each photo, logo, and uploaded video you own. Click a file name to save it to your computer. Those links expire in about two hours.
Stock photos, page layouts, and theme colors are not included. YouTube, Vimeo, and Spotify embeds are not our files to give back. Download before you delete your account if you want a copy.
Who owns my site if I leave, and can I take it with me?
Your Content: You own all of your business information, written text, uploaded logos, custom photos, and any AI images or logos you paid to generate. By using WebW.AI, you give us permission to host and display this content on your site.
Our Platform & Layouts: WebW.AI owns the page layouts, the look of the site, and the stock photos. Your paid subscription grants you a license to use your generated site on our hosting platform—it does not give you ownership of our underlying code or design assets to export and host elsewhere.
Canceling is not the same as taking a full website file with you. From Dashboard > Settings, use Download my data for a words ZIP plus separate files for photos, logos, and videos you uploaded or paid to generate. That download does not include our page designs, theme, or stock photos, and it is not a portable website you can host elsewhere.
